Position Summary

Purpose of job: To lead the implementation, coordination and monitoring of an effective legal compliance programme t o ensure that the company is conducting itís business operations within the parameters of the law in an increasingly complex and challenging global regulatory environment.


Required outputs:
- Manage the implementation of the Legal Compliance process in the area of responsibility in accordance with the annual Group Legal compliance roadmap.
-Ensure that Legislative Landscapes and Legal Risk Assessments are updated on an annual basis at the risk workshops.
-Ensure that the need for training in the area of responsibility is identified and that the required training material is developed and presented to the target group.
-Ensure awareness creation on a continuous basis within the area of responsibility.
-Ensure that the adequacy of Legal Compliance processes and outcomes of such processes are systematically reported in a standard way to the management of the BUs or EFs in area of responsibility as well as the Group Legal Compliance Manager.
-Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports to the boards.
-Ensure completeness and accuracy of presentations to the annual Legal Compliance Conference.
-Assist and support the presentations to the annual Legal Compliance Conference.
-Ensure that any occurrence of non-compliance is reported to management and to the Group Legal Compliance Manager.
-Ensure quarterly reports to the boards of the businesses in the area of responsibility.
-Ensure effectiveness of mechanism to report non-compliances.
-Ensure that annual self assessment are conducted
-Ensure certification by all employees in the area of responsibility.
-Ensure adequate monitoring of the Compliance Processes s in the area of responsibility.
-Ensure that the Compliance processes in the area of responsibility is audited on an annual basis.
-Manage relationship with the BU or EF in the area of responsibility.
-Ensure that Legal Compliance processes and controls are documented in a systematic and standard way in the BUs or EFs in area of responsibility.
- Ensure that the Legal Compliance process prescribed by the Legal Compliance Process Guideline as well as the Minimum Requirements are implemented and maintained in the BUs or EFs in area of responsibility.
- Ensure that each EF and BU in the area of responsibility has a comprehensive Legal Compliance Program in place.





 
Job Requirements
Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
-LLB degree
-Admitted Attorney
-Seven years Compliance Experience
-Three years management experience


General:
-Develop roadmaps for Legal Compliance in each of the BUs or EFs in the area of responsibility.
-Ensure that Compliance Officers are allocated to BUs in such a way that all the BUs and EFs in the area of responsibility receives an acceptable Legal Compliance service.
-Assist wit the planning of the Group Legal Compliance program.
-Assist with the development of Group Legal Compliance Policies.
-Manage performance of direct reports.
- Promote a Compliance Culture in the BUs or EFs in the area of responsibility.
-Identify opportunities to improve on the existing Legal Compliance Process.
-Assist with the maintenance and improvement of a centralised working space for Legal Compliance.
